Wendy Rogers Calls for Insurance Companies to Get Free Rein Over Your Health Care

As Americans are finding more affordable health insurance options—for the first time ever, in many instances—Congressional candidate Wendy Rogers wants to pull the rug out from consumers and give insurance companies free rein to raise rates and deny care. Rogers is persisting with this reckless push even after Republicans in Congress forced the shutdown of the government in yet another attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

“No matter how many times her Tea Party allies have tried and failed before, Wendy Rogers is hell-bent on undoing needed reforms and giving insurance companies free rein over health care,” said Matt Inzeo of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “While Arizonans want their leaders to solve problems, Wendy Rogers continues with the same reckless agenda that Tea Party Congressmen pushed as they shut down the government earlier this month.”

Republicans Shutdown the Government for Sixteen Days in an Attempt to Kill the Affordable Care Act. “Congressional Republicans conceded defeat on Wednesday in their bitter budget fight with President Obama over the new health care law as the House and Senate approved last-minute legislation ending a disruptive 16-day government shutdown and extending federal borrowing power to avert a financial default with potentially worldwide economic repercussions.” [New York Times, 10/17/13]
