Timing Could Not be More Perfect for Republican ‘Pledge to America’ Rollout
- This morning, House Republicans rollout their “Pledge to America”…aka Republicans’ Back to Bush pledge.
- Tonight, NBC debuts a new sitcom called “Outsourced”
- Tomorrow, the new movie “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” opens featuring the character Gordon ‘Greed is Good’ Gekko.
“Greed may be good for Republicans and their special interests, but it nearly destroyed the American middle class,” said Ryan Rudominer, National Press Secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “There is nothing good for Americans about the Republican pledge to protect tax breaks for corporations that ship American jobs overseas, privatizing Social Security and dismantling Medicare, and unpaid tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires.
At the unveiling of the Republicans’ Back to Bush pledge, Republican Leader John Boehner made a remarkably honest admission, “We’re not going to be any different than what we’ve been.”
