Republican Keith Fimian Says He’s More Conservative than Tom Davis
While on Mark Plotkin's Politics Program on WTOP radio, Republican Congressional Candidate Keith Fimian (VA-11) called himself "more conservative" that retiring Representative Tom Davis and was not able to name one thing that made him moderate.
"Keith Fimian is conservative - don't take our word for it, he said so himself. Fimian admitted that he does not hold the kind of moderate, commonsense views the voters of Virginia's 11th District are looking for," said Kyra Jennings, Southern Regional Press Secretary at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. "Keith Fimian is too extreme to get the job done for the district and has now shown by his actions and by his words that he is out of line with the priorities of Northern Virginia."
Fimian has already demonstrated his extreme views with his close ties to anti-choice leader Tom Monaghan, his attendance at Virginia's right wing "Tuesday Morning Group" along with Gun Owners of America executive director Larry Pratt, and his support from extreme right wing groups such as the National Conservative Campaign Fund. - When asked if he is far too conservative for the district, Fimian responded: "I'm perhaps a little more conservative than Tom [Davis], but I'm not sure where he stands on all issues." Fimian called himself a "moderate that leans conservative", but when asked what he was "moderate on," Fimian was unable to answer without being prompted by host Mark Plotkin and then said he was "pro-life" but "also against the death penalty."
