Representative Tom Rooney Flip Flops on Everglades Protection
Rooney: When I voted against the Everglades, I really meant to vote for the Everglades
Will Representative Rooney stand up for the Florida Everglades?
Depends which way the wind blows.
Two weeks ago, Representative Rooney voted against protecting 600 acres of Florida Everglades. Then, today, he flip-flopped and voted the other way.
"Rooney's opinion of the Everglades seems to change by the day. First he voted against protecting 600 acres of the Everglades. Then, when it was politically expedient, he changed his tune," said Jessica Santillo, Southern Regional Press Secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. "What will Representative Rooney try to do next, turn the St. Lucie River and Indian River Lagoon into landfills?"
