Representative McClintock Votes Against Major Road Improvements in El Dorado, Lassen, Plumas, Sierra

In a remarkable move, Representative Tom McClintock voted against major road improvements that will put Californians to work and will make it easier to travel throughout the 4th Congressional District from El Dorado up through Lassen Counties.

"Twice, Representative McClintock could have voted to support major road improvements and to put people to work in Northern California.  And twice, McClintock just said ‘no,'" said Andy Stone, Western Regional Press Secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.  "But it's no surprise that McClintock would vote against legislation that benefits his district, after all, McClintock recently told the Sacramento Bee that he arrived in Washington ‘ready to say no.'"

Funding for various projects, including highway maintenance and shoulder widening, on Routes 139, 99, 89, 70, 49 and 32 in El Dorado, Lassen, Plumas and Sierra Counties was included in the landmark economic recovery package that was recently signed into law.
