QUICK CLIP: DCCC Chairman Israel Highlights Republicans’ Incessant Focus on Wrong Priorities

On MSNBC’s Jansing and Co. today, DCCC Chairman Steve Israel highlighted Democrats’ midterm strategy to focus on priorities that matter to Americans the most: creating jobs and showing Americans who is on their side.

Chairman Israel said: “This is going to be about who has got your back, this is going to be about whose side you are on and our candidates are going to talk about the fact that House Republicans refused to pass the minimum wage, but have passed $40 billion in minimum subsidies for the biggest oil companies on earth. When you focus on priorities and when you focus on who’s got your back, Democrats do very well with voters. That is why this is going to be a referendum on those critical middle class growth issues.”

Watch here:

Chairman Israel continued: “65 percent of voters support Democrats on the minimum wage. 70 percent of voters support Democrats in paying a woman equal for the same job as a man. 70 percent of voters support passing comprehensive immigration reform. As you get deeper into the cycle, as we get closer to the election, people will be focusing on those issues, those priorities, and supporting our fight for them and those priorities.”
