New DCCC Ad: Congressman Denham Looking Out for Himself, Not America’s Troops

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is launching an Independent Expenditure TV ad exposing Congressman Jeff Denham (CA-10) for looking out for himself instead of America’s troops. Congressman Denham, who wrote secret letters asking for a pay raise when he was a State Senator, voted against protecting pay for American troops in the event of a government shutdown. But in typical Jeff Denham fashion, he also voted to guarantee his own pay even if the government stopped running.

Script for “Troops” (CA-10):

Voiceover: In times of conflict, American troops have our backs.

But that didn’t stop Jeff Denham from turning his back on them.

With a government shutdown looming in Washington, Denham voted against a measure to guarantee our troops would still receive their pay.

But Denham did vote to protect his own paycheck.

No surprise. In Sacramento, Denham wrote secret letters asking for pay raises he promised he wouldn’t take.

Jeff Denham. Out for himself. Not us.
