Michelle Bachmann: Proud of Minnesotans Forced to Work Two Jobs and Longer Hours
On Wednesday, Republican Congresswoman Michelle Bachman declared what makes her proud: Minnesotans working two jobs and longer hours. What she didnt say was the reason why her state is the workingest in the country Americas worsening economic slump caused by President Bushs failed economic policies that have forced Minnesotans to work longer and harder just to make ends meet.
Congresswoman Michelle Bachmans twisted version of the American Dream consists of Minnesotans being forced to work two jobs and having less time to spend with their kids just to make ends meet. No wonder Congresswoman Michelle Bachman has worked so hard to Rubber Stamp George Bushs devastating economic policies that have crippled Minnesotas working families, said Ryan Rudominer, Midwest Regional Press Secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committe. If Minnesotans want to continue working two jobs just to try to get by, they should support Michelle Bachman and her campaign to maintain the status quo. But if they want new priorities in Congress, they should join our fight for change.
On Wednesday, during a press conference with her Republican colleague Congressman Eric Cantor, Representative Michelle Bachman said the following:
I am so proud to be from the state of Minnesota. We're the workingest state in the country, and the reason why we are, we have more people that are working longer hours, we have people that are working two jobs, we have more women in the workforce than any other state.
