Latest Tim Burns Supporter Sold Out Western Pennsylvania Jobs to Get Rich Just Like Burns Did
Republican millionaire Tim Burns is shamelessly touting the endorsement of another millionaire who sold out jobs in Western Pennsylvania to get rich, just like Burns did himself a few years ago. The endorsement reminds us of what we already knew: Tim Burns is out-of-touch and only cares about his own bank account.
Yesterday, Glen Meakem endorsed Burns’ campaign in an email to supporters. Meakem is a millionaire who sold his company in 2004 to get rich and the sale resulted in job loss in Pittsburgh; Burns sold his company in 2002 despite the fact that he knew it would lead to job loss too.
"Tim Burns sold out jobs in Western Pennsylvania so he could get rich and now he’s shamefully touting an endorsement from someone who did the exact same thing," said Shripal Shah, Regional Press Secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. "This endorsement only reminds us of what we already knew: Tim Burns is an out-of-touch millionaire who only cares about his own bank account, not Western Pennsylvania jobs. Western Pennsylvania can’t afford Tim Burns’ agenda that puts his own interests first at the expense of jobs for middle class families."
