Frightening Sight: Video Highlights Divide Between Tea Party and Americans

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee today released a video that highlights mounting polling data showing the ever-growing divide between Tea Party House Republicans and Americans – a frightening sight for the House Majority. With public disapproval of Tea Party House Republicans at a record high, they’re not doing themselves any favors. Just this week, Tea Party House Republicans once again voted to stand by the sequester, and it’s little wonder their approval ratings are worse than cockroaches.

Frightful Numbers

“We’re just barely into 2013, but already this year Tea Party House Republicans have forced the damaging sequester, tried to stop the Violence Against Women Act, and continually have held the government hostage to their extreme and dysfunctional agenda,” said Emily Bittner of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “At this point, everyone can see that the public has no love for Tea Party House Republicans – everyone but House Republicans.”

According to a new Quinnipiac University poll released yesterday, 71 percent of Americans disapprove of the way Republicans in Congress are handling their job, and 53 percent of Republicans disapprove of the way their own party is handling their job in Congress.
