DCCC Continues Fundraising Dominance, Outraises NRCC by $1.3 Million

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has once again outraised the National Republican Congressional Committee in monthly fundraising, raising $7.3 million in May and outraising the NRCC by $1.3 million.

Despite being in the minority, the DCCC had its best-ever May, bringing in $7.3 million and bringing its total raised for the cycle to $113.9 million. With $45.9 million in the bank, the DCCC has conserved $18.4 million more cash than at this point in the 2012 cycle. The DCCC continues to hold a nearly $11 million cash advantage over the NRCC.

“Democrats across the country are fired up and supporting the DCCC at record levels because they’re fed up with this Republican Congress that shuts down the government but protects their own taxpayer-funded perks and tax breaks for special interests,” said DCCC Chairman Steve Israel. “The American people want leaders in Washington who will end the damaging dysfunction and focus on strengthening the economy for middle class families.”

The impact of the DCCC’s fundraising dominance was clear this week, when the NRCC fell far short of the DCCC’s fall ad reservations (the NRCC reserved $14 million less and covered 10 fewer districts than the DCCC). In addition, the DCCC has tripled its investment in field operations and put staff on the ground in dozens of districts starting in January – six months earlier than ever before.
