DCCC Chairman Israel Announces Two Additions to Red to Blue List

DCCC Chairman Steve Israel today announced two additions to the DCCC’s highly competitive Red to Blue program. Sean Eldridge (NY-19) and Aaron Woolf (NY-21) have earned spots on Red to Blue by surpassing aggressive fundraising, organization and infrastructure goals and making their races competitive. These candidates have also demonstrated they are problem solvers who will represent their districts by focusing on jobs and strengthening the middle class.

With these two additions, there are now 18 candidates on the DCCC’s Red to Blue list and, in total, 35 districts are part of the Red to Blue or Emerging Races programs.

While Republicans continue to struggle to recruit diverse candidates, the Democratic caucus is made up of a majority of women, people of color and LGBT Americans.

“Sean Eldridge and Aaron Woolf have earned their place in this battle-tested program by exceeding every goal and building campaigns designed to win in November,” Chairman Israel said.  “Eldridge and Woolf are independent problem solvers who have shown that they will work to strengthen New York’s middle class and fight against this broken Republican Congress that shut down our government to put special interests first.”
