DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen’s Statement on Republicans’ “Pledge”
DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen released the following statement today on House Republicans’ “Pledge to America.”
“It’s telling that House Republicans claimed to have listened to the American people when writing their pledge despite the fact they ignored one of the top vote getters on their site, which was to save American jobs and stop outsourcing. That’s not surprising considering they have all voted repeatedly against House Democrats’ efforts to stop outsourcing American jobs.
“With the release of their agenda today, House Republicans confirmed what Pete Sessions said about the need to go back to the exact same agenda as President Bush.
“All House Republicans did was recycle the failed economic policies of President Bush that put special interests and multi-national CEO’s above American families: tax breaks for corporations that ship American jobs overseas, unpaid for tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires, and repealing Wall Street reforms.”
