Ann Marie Buerkle Skips Tax Payments While Lining Her Own Campaign Coffers

Republican Ann Marie Buerkle’s underwhelming campaign for Congress took a hit this week when it was exposed that she has chosen to invest in her own political campaign instead of paying the tens of thousands of back taxes that she owes. Buerkle has accumulated $46,000-$69,000 in unpaid property taxes and while they remained outstanding, she decided to loan her campaign $28,000.   Clearly, Ann Marie Buerkle can’t be trusted with her own taxes, and voters can’t trust her to be responsible for their hard earned tax dollars either.

“Ann Marie Buerkle has proved that she’s only concerned with her own political interests and nothing else,” said Shripal Shah, Regional Press Secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “Only someone with a strictly self-serving agenda like Ann Marie Buerkle would think it’s okay to loan her campaign money while skipping out on paying her own property taxes.”

“Since Ann Marie Buerkle clearly can’t be responsible for her own taxes, there’s no way she can be trusted with taxpayer dollars.”
