Where In The World Is John Boehner?

House Speaker John Boehner, Republican Leader Eric Cantor and other House Republicans are spending the month of January globe-trotting instead of working to protect middle income families from a payroll tax increase. Today, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee launched to highlight where Republican leaders are vacationing.

While most Americans are hard at work, House Republicans are working in Washington, DC only 6 days in January and getting paid $14,500 for it. Democratic leaders have called on House Republicans to return to work to stop a $1,000 payroll tax hike on 160 million middle income Americans.

“It’s sometimes tough to tell where Republicans like Speaker Boehner and Leader Cantor are  but we know they’re not back in Washington creating jobs and making sure middle class families don’t face a $1,000 tax hike,” said Jesse Ferguson of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “After nearly forcing a middle class tax hike in December, now House Republicans are taking January off from work. The only thing House Republicans work hard at is protecting Big Oil and the ultra wealthy.”
