Vile Secrecy and Overtime Pay

In April 2002, for example, the Orlando Sentinel reported that the Apopka Little League team of 11- and 12-year-olds would visit the White House on May 5 to watch a T-ball game. The source: the team manager and parents.

“The White House would not confirm the invitation,” the paper reported.

And that’s just the funny part.

On another note, we won a solid victory today on overtime.  Bush has agreed to up the number of people eligible, and while he will no doubt portray it as a move of spontaneous compassion, Democrats have been screaming for it at the top of their lungs for months.  We don’t have an analysis yet, and from a preliminary look I’ve got my doubts that it offsets much of his earlier actions, but we’ll get back to you…
