VIDEO: House Republicans Face Backlash Over Misplaced Priorities During August Recess

During the August recess, frustrated constituents confronted House Republicans over their misplaced priorities and today the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee released a new video highlighting the backlash that House Republicans faced. Whether it was pushing for bipartisan immigration reform, protecting Social Security and Medicare, or preventing a government shutdown, Americans told House Republicans time and again to get their priorities straight.

Republicans Lost August

“House Republicans were on defense during the entire August recess, trying to explain their misplaced priorities - but their constituents weren’t having any of their tired political arguments,” said Emily Bittner of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.  “Instead of focusing on creating jobs for the middle class, protecting Medicare and Social Security, and working on solutions, House Republicans are still threatening to shut down the government over Obamacare, denying science and talking about impeaching the President. Voters are tired of this broken, out-of-touch Republican Congress and will hold House Republicans accountable for their misplaced priorities.”
