New NY-25 Poll Shows Slaughter with Double Digit Lead over Brooks

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee today released a new GBA Strategies poll that shows Rep. Louise Slaughter with a commanding ten point lead with just two weeks until election day.   Slaughter currently receives 53 percent to Maggie Brooks’ 43 percent.

Slaughter continues to earn high marks from voters, holding a favorable to unfavorable ratio of 48 – 36 percent. By contrast, as voters have learned more about Brooks’ record as Monroe County Executive, her standing has taken a steep downturn. She now holds a 40 – 41 percent favorability ratio, down from 57 – 31 percent two months ago.

“With only two weeks to the election, Louise Slaughter is on the verge of victory as more people reject Maggie Brooks and her out of touch agenda,” said Josh Schwerin, Northeast Press Secretary at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.  “Voters have rejected Maggie Brooks as they’ve heard more and more about the culture of scandal and corruption that she has overseen during her time as County Executive.  With Brooks’ numbers plummeting and Slaughter running strong, this election is quickly moving out of reach for Maggie Brooks.”

A GBA Strategies polling memo is available here.
