Maffei Holds Six Point Lead over Congresswoman Buerkle in New NY-24 Poll
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee today released a new Grove Insight poll that shows Dan Maffei with a six-point lead over extremist Republican Congresswoman Ann Marie Buerkle (NY-24). Maffei is earning 48 percent of the vote in a three-way race.
In the initial three-way head-to-head for New York’s 24th Congressional district, Maffei leads Buerkle 48 percent to 42 percent, with Green Party candidate Ursula Rozum taking 4 percent. A majority of voters, 55 percent, have negative reviews of Congresswoman Buerkle’s job performance, a major problem for an incumbent.
“Voters clearly don’t like the radical, extreme policies that Congresswoman Buerkle continues to support,” said Josh Schwerin, Northeast Press Secretary at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “Congresswoman Buerkle’s record of putting big corporations and wealthy special interests ahead of middle class families is turning voters off. Dan Maffei is running a strong campaign, and his commitment to protect Medicare and fight for the middle class is clearly resonating with central New York voters.”
