Maffei Expands Lead over Congresswoman Buerkle in New NY-24 Poll

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee today released a new Grove Insight poll that shows Dan Maffei with an eight-point lead over extremist Republican Congresswoman Ann Marie Buerkle (NY-24). Maffei is earning 46 percent of the vote in a three-way race.
In the initial three-way head-to-head for New York’s 24th Congressional District, Maffei leads Buerkle 46 percent to 38 percent, with Green Party candidate Ursula Rozum taking 7 percent.  About one-third have positive perceptions of Buerkle's work in office (32%), while a majority (59%) offer up negative reviews—an increase on the negative side of four points since our August survey.
“Voters are moving away from Congresswoman Buerkle as they learn more about her extreme Tea Party record of voting to end Medicare and raising middle class taxes to pay for new tax breaks to millionaires,” said Josh Schwerin, Northeast Press Secretary at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.  “With about six weeks to go until Election Day, Dan Maffei is well positioned to defeat Tea Party Congresswoman Ann Marie Buerkle."
A Grove Insight polling memo is available here.
