Joe Garcia Establishes Double Digit Lead In New Poll

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee today released a new Benenson Strategy Group poll showing Democrat Joe Garcia opening up his lead over Republican Congressman David Rivera to 11 points.  In the initial head-to-head in the race, Garcia received 46 percent while Congressman Rivera received 35 percent of the vote. In addition, more and more Florida families are hearing about Congressman Rivera’s ethical problems and pulling away from him.

“With Congressman Rivera facing several ongoing federal investigations, it’s no wonder his questionable ethics are taking a significant toll on his re-election chances,” said Stephanie Formas of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “Joe Garcia will work across party lines to create jobs in Florida and protect the middle class while Congressman Rivera tries to cover up multiple scandals he is facing.”

A Benenson Strategy Group polling memo is available here.
