Dr. Gill Seizes 6 Point Lead in New DCCC Poll

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee released an automated poll today showing Dr. David Gill leading Rodney Davis by six points (43 percent to 37 percent). Despite more than a million in special interest attacks against him, Dr. Gill has taken a 6 point lead and Davis isn’t even getting 40 percent. It’s clear that Davis’ record as a career political insider is hurting him because Davis’ favorability is underwater with only 25 percent favorable rating. In contrast, the majority of voters who know Dr. Gill also expressed favorable opinions of him. The DCCC poll also found President Obama leading Mitt Romney 48 percent to 43 percent.

“Party insiders might have picked a career Party loyalist Rodney Davis as their candidate, but Illinois middle class families prefer Dr. David Gill because he’s running to stop Illinois jobs from being sent overseas and to protect seniors’ Medicare,” said Haley Morris of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “After spending his whole life on the inside track of corrupt Illinois politics, Rodney Davis carries some major baggage and it shows.”
