DCCC Statement on $3.2 Million Chamber of Commerce Ad Buy in California

With California Tea Party Republicans on the verge of defeat, the US Chamber of Commerce has released false and misleading advertising to reward them for an agenda that protects big corporations that outsource jobs and tax breaks for millionaires. The latest Cook Political Report wrote, “If there is one place House Republican strategists are particularly concerned about a downturn in Romney's fortunes nationally, it is California. Pollsters on both sides privately point to a top-of-the-ticket drag that is making life extremely difficult…”
“The Tea Party Republicans’ majority is in jeopardy and California Republicans are on the ropes so now millionaires, insurance companies and special interests are going to try to bail them out,” said Jesse Ferguson of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “These California Tea Party Republicans have relentlessly protected millionaires and special interests at the expense of Medicare and the middle class, so it comes as no surprise that the millionaires and special interests will try to come to their rescue. While these outside groups can try to re-arrange the deck chairs on the Titanic, the ship for these California Tea Party Republicans will still sink.”
